Serving as the city's "green lung", the park is the last remaining area of tropical rainforest in Kuala Lumpur. It was gazetted as a forest reserve in 1906 and is one of the oldest in Malaysia. Situated near the forest is one of the city's skyline icons, the Kuala Lumpur Tower, which was constructed with the utmost attention being paid to the environment to ensure that the natural surroundings of KL Forest Eco Park remain undisturbed.
